I think we all know the pandemic decimated in person art shows over the last 24 months. Like many artists, I have done my best with videos and zoom meetings, but it' just not the same. So …it’s time for a change. The pandemic not withstanding, personal issues, also kept me on the sidelines for all of 2022. Other things just became more important.

Moving forward, I am getting back to in person shows and even taking some work on the road. The season is starting again, and I’m beginning to crate/box what’s left of Broken Banknote paintings for these various events. I’m open to calls, group shows and any general event that gets the work in front of a live audience. Art can not exist in a vacuum, and needs direct feedback. All the greatest photography and video in the world will never showcase, what oil paint under light can do in person. And regardless of email, video chat or social media, there’s something about the “in person experience”; the unspoken body language and physical reaction to work, that an artist needs to see, in order to continue growing their craft.

There is new work, that has yet to be seen outside of Broken Banknote, more "Brian Drake Art" if you will. Of course I will showcase new ways of presenting some classic work and have a few merchandise opportunities as well. I look forward to seeing some of you on the road, as 2023 unfolds.
