SUMMER SUNSET
It's over? Maybe for you. Me, I consumed way too much Yacht Rock. I let my hair get too long. I ate it all, drank it all, and I'm overly tan. In LA, summer hangs on right up to Halloween. So, like that last bottle of rosé in the picture, I'm squeezing out every drop with a private viewing in my new space.
It took a while to find the right setup. What I landed on is a separate building on my property: a shop inside, a place to gather outside, and a small viewing area where we can talk about art over whatever's cold.
New Space, Same Place
For years my studio was an unfinished guest bedroom down the hall. Now I walk out the back door, cross the yard, flip on the lights, and I'm somewhere else. No drive across town, no worrying about getting home safe at 2 a.m. Just paint. The house is for living, this is for work, and that short walk is the whole difference. The sun is now falling across an unfinished piece, with light casting pale orange and cyan across the panel. And like that empty bottle of rosé... summer is done. The studio's just getting started.
